Concrete mixer + lots of crazy paint colours + surreal festival organized by magic-makers = an unbelievable mural experience!
I had an amazing opportunity to be involved in the most intense and logistically challenging mural I have ever completed. UpFest 2015 - a festival of music and public art - was the setting for a mural painted on a functional concrete mixer. I designed the image for the three-dimensional piece, and worked with an awesome crew to make it real. Together we had 3 days to begin and complete the full mural on the cylinder of the concrete mixer, and though we had our share of obstacles (*shaking fist at rain*), we powered through, and created a moving piece of illustration which will (hopefully) roam the streets of Sudbury for years to come.
Thank you THANK YOU to my unbelievable crew for all your extremely hard work: Tracy Baker, Joelle Beaulieu, Josh Turnbull, Karl Turnbull, and Brad Westby
And huge THANK YOU to the UpFest organizers and creators for letting me throw paint around:
Christian Pelletier and Andrew Knapp
This was an unbelievable experience, and I am so thrilled to have been a part of it!
